The marina’s moods
by Michael J. Galko

In a light daybreeze
the clinking of the
ropes against the masts
predominates-

in a heavier one
the slap of water
under the hulls
and the snap of

loose canvas sails
in air. Only on the
stillest of evenings
can the muted chime

of moonlight
glancing off the water
be heard. That's the
particle half of the light.

The wave half
changes pace and
joins the roll of the water.
Or the wind. As it wills.
