Anniversary is
A broken urn rapped like a birthday present
Opened once a year
The urn has been dropped so many times
It will not go back together
The first time was easy
Glue of affection
Held tight cracks barely visible
Each time though
It got harder and harder
Our reassembled memory
Hardly resembling its original form
I sift through the debris
Trying to find the pieces I love the most
