Rain Filled Year
by Eva Waldauf

the scent of wet, rain filled earth
turning to Fall,
hint of ocean,
brings sadness,
grieving the end of Summer and old hurts

but my heart turns it around,
the delight of new prospects
and the joy of you in my life

your love binds me in happiness
in front of me, it unfolds
our new life together,
one year we've had,
the promise of more makes my heart sing
in this leaning to darkness and Autumn
