Anniversary of the Death of a Blended Family
by Mary Wehner
|
After the passing
the house filled up with family
one talking over the other
she was a saint she was a fool
he was the one who fooled
she was a generous woman
she was a tireless mother who loved
equally as all good mothers should
she was a pitiful woman made up of scars
she prayed he joked she was a martyr
one who forgave him his offspring
she was his faithful wife she was not
their mother.
