Bite of The Apple
by Terri Lynn Cummings

In Eden’s garden
curiosity curses woman
like man sanctions disparity
when she swishes
a feather of a question
in his ear, stiff
as a wedge of belief
He knows her words
chip the pottery of power
and weaken his menu
until it no longer serves
her hunger –
until Eve’s knowledge
bathes the feet of malice
in his load of manure
