AN EYE LOOKS
by Patsy Ruth Williams

Though an eye looks with a tear,
A hand reaches with a smile.
You know it's another year.

In life we will persevere
And start to walk our next mile.
Though an eye looks with a tear,

There are things we hold with fear.
The mirror shows us a new style.
You know it's another year.

We will hold each other near
And one day walk down the aisle.
Though an eye looks with a tear,

We will share things for somewhile.
Our lives will be full of cheer.
You know it's another year.

We will dress in the meanwhile
And go to the party dear.
Though an eye looks with a tear,
You know it's another year.
