Flight From A Tree
by Keleigh Patterson

    It fell --
    Simply
    Unassumingly
    Softly.
    Without fanfare.

    Floating on January air --
    Aimlessly.
    Until landing
On my freshly written words --
Birthed on a white lined book page.

    So, I let it be.
    This faded, sepia leaf,
    Not looking for asylum
    Just naturally taking flight --
    From a tree.
