Lady Macbeth Moves to L.A.
by Alex Stolis

She thinks she's a good
idea-- keeps everyone
confused and the turmoil
begins even before
she enters a room.
The stares, the small
catches of breath--
she could get away
with murder in a way Liz
Taylor couldn't escape
her past in Butterfield 8--
she doesn't believe
in the use of sophisticated
lies because simplicity
is always an even bet
except when she decides
to share her secrets
with the nearest ex-lover.
