sex and coffee
by Alexandra Moss

i was sitting in dunkin' donuts last night
wiping iced coffee with skim off my leg
when danny asked me
if i did anything right.
i told him i'd handled my donut just fine.
it was only the coffee
i'd spilled
and the relationship
i'd ended.
danny stroked his beard
and laughed.

i'm great with mundane things
like life.
i'm fine with final things
like death.

i only ruin everything that matters,
danny,
i only fuck up sex and coffee.
