In the 36 Days of your Silence
by T Nicole Cirone

In the 36 days of your silence
I seek hope in the Tibetan prayer flags
I’ve hung around my weathered porch.
The green flag—your flag—
gradually frays: unstitched by wind and rain
bleached in midsummer sun.
Tattered green threads flutter--then
settle, motionless, waiting to be moved again.
