Rodent Circus
by S.Eric Ketzer

    these people
    like tame squirrels
    move between trees
in a task driven dance of predestination
moving as parents and elders and peers
    told them to move
    bisecting the radius
taking the shortest distance between two points
moving faster as technological advances dictate
    time saving devises
    allowing more time
    to move squirrel like
    and I watch
    amused at this rodent circus
