    _______in Lansdale, Pennsylvania
    ______________I saw a guy I saw
    _____________________dying in Korea.

    Is that you,
    _______Pete Merenda,
    ______________still moving down
    _____________________the trail,

    open gut baking
    _______in the sunlight,
    ______________dream rock-hard
    _____________________and deeper,

    pulse beating
    _______against the hot fragments
    ______________such idiots throw
    _____________________at each other,

    eyes washing
    _______over you as though
    ______________you had not been
    _____________________part of us?

    I will tell
    _______someone sometime
    ______________and he will not remember
    _____________________disowning you.
