Without You, Very Well
by Rodney Terich Leonard

It took seven Decembers,
three moves, a bruised index finger,
two years of underwear inspections,
a sexless Tulum vacation,
the Easter sermon on addiction and fear,
the birthday trip to Boston; no synergy,
and the finality of a May morning in the Cloisters
to find a voice for wants that failed me.
