by Anna Yin

After the third miscarriage,
your doctor declares--
your womb is too thin.
He crosses out “Hope” in red.
Instead of weeping,
you keep motionless.

Later in the class,
when asking students
to point out problems of our blue planet,
all they care about
is “Second Life",
you lose your temper.

You feel the shaking
of the earth's brittle crust..
