Chasm
by Shubh Bala Schiesser

Some relationships don't break
Even after parting hands
Feet keep chasing rivers of time

Rivers shrink between banks
Massive monsoons
Don't listen to the shores

An old season of memories returns
Sky burns charcoals sooty clouds ruffle
Exactly like your fickle nature

You scatter torn pieces of letters
Gloomy winds exposes
Your messages

No one dies with the dead
ashes lie still hot on earth
Pain of separation breaks through tears

Shadows of heart ploughing
Plants of sadness long sighs
Bury under ribs reverberating

I have placed on my tongue
A capsule of your burning pain
It neither melts nor slides
Scorches throat lungs and heart
