Edge of it All
by Bradley Mason Hamlin

When
your woman’s
gone

evil
in deed
or
mind

the beer
tastes differently

more
solace
to the suds
less happy
to the hops

and music
takes
truer form
to
sorrow

or
simply sucked
free
of all
the happy

you
wonder if
her
blonde hair
and
pineapple dress

are
worth
the trouble…

you
begin
to conjecture

if she’s
really gone
over
the edge
of
it all

but
isn’t that
what
attracted

you
to her

in
the first
place?
