Equally Absurd
by Hillary Lyon

the screaming canvas in the gallery
drunk with electric latex
balances fashion model junk
with smoky silhouette angel

deems discord and harmony
equally absurd
though the surly rhythm of aesthetics
makes it all worth while

so the canvas thinks: why cannot
raw smears equal metaphorical music?
wildly greedy masterpieces
have sold themselves for so much less
