Scissortail at Sunrise
by Ken Hada

Scissortail on Easter
Sunday sunrise
sitting a wire
like a Christ returning,

an artist painting sky
safe for mammals
and disciples
of fork-tailed deity.

Time for worship arrives:
The empty tomb
is but one song
the choir of heaven sings.
