darkness at the end of the tunnel
by SK Iyer

what a moving piece of work -
a nimble tread of a poem that walks

an array of words flows out
in a rhyme hitherto unheard of

powerful darkness stops the light
at either of the clichéd ends

wagon loads of deafening sounds
pass by crushing my benign thoughts

and I walk alone towards light
having lost my work
somewhere in the darkness behind
