Dragons at Sunrise
by Eva Waldauf

bruise clouds shape dragons at sunrise,
late Spring wakes me,
my body heat rising like mist
desire lifting stronger til my womb aches,
but I don't crave a night of lust,
it won't slake my heart's need
for love turned both ways,
my lust, a dragon flame burns,
I douse it, now
until it entwines tightly around
and joins my heart again
