The True Payoff
by Bryon D. Howell

There is
nothing more
encouraging to
me
than standing in
grocery lines,
noticing attractive
yet cranky
teenage male
cashiers.

I let them
know
with a warm
smile
and flirtatious
eyes,
I can undo
them,
teaching every one
of them
how to smile just
like me.
