Lover's Dance
by Len Kuntz

Flat-footed we dance
around weighted pucks
that are as fragile as sand dollars.
We try to find stasis,
some symbiotic rhythm,
but the floors jump and shift
from the mad crowds
who covet our efforts
and fear we’ll find love
after all.
