a street known as “gift”
by Meg E.

the house with two faces sits
above no driveway. only, a field
with half-planted hydrangeas.
it does not look at you. the windows
do not smile. it’s called a duplex,
it’s called, living within your means,
you tell me it’s like walking back
twenty years, like cradling a life
that is not supposed to be remembered.
