High Noon on Ocean Drive
by Abigail F. Taylor

He and she passed
when the sun ached
against the sand
and the wind sang

where birds of paradise grew wild
and the slope of the pure green hill
yawned wide they smiled

he dropped his steady walk and she tucked back
a strand of hair and fell into his eyes
heavy blue-brown on a nameless face
to love completely because neither spoke

knowing this she turned to watch him
walk away he had done the same
capturing one perfect moment

She and he fell
in love one day
when the wind sang
against the sand
