Moment in New York (after Rich Zaner)
by Christopher McCarthy

in New York
walls, bricks
a shoe sidewalk
a woman
sidewalk squatting
threadbare plastic bags
stuffed with clothes
inching out at passers-by.

Belt-length of cord
a stringed puzzle
mid-day beers
a milk crate
that fleeting bed
slowly flip the body
flip the body with pride.
